Find Peace In Your Own Abundant Lane

Often times we hear about how entrepreneurs like you and I, are excelling at a rapid rate. They are growing their businesses exponentially and are doing a superb job at it. They are even making it a part of their mission to spread the word, inspire others with what they’ve done so others can follow their way.

Now just as much as these stories can be inspiring to some folks, they can be very discouraging at the same time. (Im sure some of you reading this can certainly relate).

In today’s blog, we are going to dissect the impact and power behind finding one’s peace and in staying in their own lane. Like anything else, there’s a power and skill needed here, so we’ll be sure to list out and elaborate on a few key takeaways to make sure you can walk away with some actionable steps, in which you can apply right away.

Now before we start to list out strategies on how we shouldn’t allow the success of others slow down our growth or the growth of our businesses, let's first discuss how it actually can and realistically may impact you at some point in your life.

If you find yourself in any of these positions, do yourself a favor and take note.

  • You compare yourself to others a lot more than normal

  • You feel like you’re not growing “fast enough"

  • You can’t seem to be happy for the success of others, let alone be inspired by them

  • You feel like it's impossible for you to get to where you want to be

Now of these four scenarios, I ask that you be 100% honest with yourself here as it will be only way you can truly grow.

Do you currently or have you at any point found yourself thinking or feeling any of the above ways?

Glad you’re being honest with yourself here.

Ok now lets dive deep, shall we?! I promise, I’ll make this fun and informative at the same time.

1. You compare yourself to others a lot more than normal: this certainly is something that stems from the inside more than we may want to believe. Its best to dive inward and consider what area of your life you feel you are lacking the most or not doing enough in and evaluate from there. That method will do a good job in explaining why you may be feel the need to compare yourself to others to the degree that you have.

2. You feel like you’re not growing “fast enough”: This can certainly can go hand in hand with the above strategy in that its best to first look inside when looking for reasons as to why you’ve been feeling this way. Now its important to also note that no matter what others inside and out of your fields are accomplishing, it has nothing to do with your growth. Seriously it really doesn’t. You have to constantly remind yourself that you are on your own journey and no matter where you are at this present moment, you wont be there for long because you are only improving and nothing but that.

3. You can’t seem to be happy for the success of others, let alone be inspired by them: It doesn’t surprise me that this would be another thought that would circulate inside the mind of someone who is constantly in this comparison game. Whether they hear of someone’s success at a small or large scale, individuals in this head space are costumed to not allow themselves to enjoy or grow from the influence of others’ growth. Instead of seeing it as an opportunity to excel in whatever skill they are most accustomed to, they are more inclined to contradict the purpose of another’s success or advancement in any set skill or activity.

4. You feel like its impossible for you to get to where you want to be: It comes to no surprise at this point for us both to see that the above limiting beliefs will naturally lead to this one as well. When we put ourselves in this constant comparison mode, we naturally begin to doubt ourselves and all the abilities that we actually have. What will naturally happen from here is that we will begin to unlearn and even loose motivation for the things we once did have at some point. So not only does this frame of thinking rob us from what we can do in the future, but also what we are able to accomplish at this very moment and anything soon after.

Are you starting to see now how this way of thinking can not only hold you back from what you are already doing, but also what you have the potential to do?

——

Let's look at this from a different angle.

We now know how a certain mindset can drastically impact our growth, but how do we realistically not allow it to slow down our growth or the growth of our businesses?

In other words,

how can we find peace in our own lane and make it one that is most suitable for our needs as well as where we aim to be?

Here are a few ideas to keep in mind:

  1. Come up with a list of your top priorities. Another way to look at this would be to list out all the reasons why you do what you do and why you’re aiming for such goals? Others would call this “your why.”

  2. List out your core values, both inside and outside of your business. This will give you an idea as to why you feel the need to do, say, think and feel a certain way.

  3. Come up with a group of individuals that support you the most. This can be your friends, family or business partners/mentors. Really the goal here is to bring together people who lift you up and help you stay in your lane. These are also people who you don’t have to prove anything to, as they already know who you are at your core.

  4. Get crystal clear about your vision and what you want to achieve. Be mindful of the fact that our goals always evolve as we evolve and that is absolutely ok to happen. But just make sure that while you are going about your journey, you have a direction you’re working towards and that direction gives you the motivation to keep on moving forward.

  5. Create a healthy outlet and safe space for you to turn to when you do feel down about anything along yourself or when you notice any self-doubts begin to creep up. This may include connecting with the good folks from above and/or coming up with a sacred practice where you get to release any negative energy, remind yourself of your truth and recenter your being.

  6. Visit this list as many times as you need to and adjust as you see fit. Keep in mind that you are only human and we are all bound to make mistakes, take different turns and make adjustments as we go along. That is absolutely ok and with that, only greatness can be born from.

To take this even further, its important like really really important to understand that you will inevitably become a product of your environment. Whether you want to admit that or not, you will and already are a product of just that. So whether you have some spring cleaning to do or you have to add in a few more abundant beings, do what you have to do to get into the best mental shape you can. That way, nothing and I mean nothing can hold any weight on your growth.

I say this to say, it's important to associate only with other entrepreneurs who carry the same mindset. I urge you to do your very best in straying away from those who also have an abundant mindset and they only remind you of how you should be thinking, feeling and operating both inside and outside your business.

You’ll notice that I always mention the importance of keeping a certain mindset inside n outside of your business for the sake of empowering you to take not of just how important it is to keep your thoughts healthy and abundant, because whether you are in work mode or enjoying your personal life that brain of yours will always be with you and what you feed it will only determine what results it feeds you in return ;)

So go on that much needed journey today.

Look for the truth that lives inside you and be sure to do everything and anything you can to stay on path. Don’t let any negative thought, fear, person or event get in your way. You have an abundant life to live and the only way you’ll be able to do that is to stay on top of those thoughts that roam your mind 99% of the time.

Until next time my friends, keep your head up and know that whatever “obstacle” that comes your way throughout your business journey, its really just a blessing in disguise.
